Liza Davitch is an independent film/videomaker and photographer whose work has been shown at the Montreal World Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, New York Independent International Film Festival, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival, and on public television. From 1994 – 2000 she spent half of each year in Belarus to research and make new work, and a full year in Lodz, Poland as a Fulbright Research Scholar. Her documentaries have included portraits of actors, musicians, and families in America and Eastern Europe, and an investigation of the after-effects of the Chernobyl nuclear tragedy on children in Minsk, Belarus.
