Special Events for The Space Between the Words Show

“The Space Between The Words” is a group art exhibit at the Vine Arts Center, a cooperative art gallery in the Seward neighborhood. The show will be up through Saturday, September 26.

Special Events

Sept 17 – 5:30 – 8pm Thursday – “Transforming Raw Materials into Art” – show and tell with artists talk for adults and families.  Artist members Harry Samtur, Karen Graham, Erika Hammerschmidt and JoAnne Middaugh will demonstrate their process of transforming raw materials into art.

Sept 19 – 1:30 – 3:30pm – “Images of the Ineffable.”  We will explore refreshing traditional symbols using imagery as visual metaphor grounded in nature to express experiences we cannot easily put into words.  Endel Kallas, artist member will facilitate this discussion. 

Sept 20 – 1:30 – 3:30pm – “Unite Your Community Through the Arts”, focuses on building quality lifestyles/community through exploring art and discussion in engaging and enjoyable ways.  Member, Jim M. Foreman will facilitate the discussion. 

Sept 24 – 5:30 – 8pm Thursday – “Poetry Inspired by Art.”   Artists and guests read out loud a poem that was inspired by painting, photo, sculpture, etc.  Sandra Brick & Michael Amram share their collaboration with Michael’s Haiku poems and Sandra’s fiber art pieces.

Sept 26 – 11am – 5pm Saturday CLOSING DAY.
